The lady vanishes
Well, no - I don't mean myself, although anyone who has been reading this blog would be excused for thinking that... ;)
Just like you, I do have a life - or two - beyond this spot of a blog.
Which is why all the amazing stories I've been itching to tell you will have to wait some more. Today, I am going to share just a very short story from a wonderfully entertaining and informative website that is among our favourites.
It was contributed by a man who calls himself "Dave".
Here's what Dave said:
"A few days ago, I was behind a girl, walking down the stairs, in the subway. Reaching the bottom, she turned right, around the corner, into a dead-end subway waiting area. I did the same and she was not there. I was about two seconds behind her, and there is no way she could have gone from view. ..."
The rest you can read here.
There are a few instances of such disappearances in previous posts, here in this blog. (See some of the March entries.)
Be sure to read them, if you haven't already.
Better yet, if anything like this has happened to you, make sure you don't disappear back into the ether of your off-line life without letting me know. ;)
P.S. Make sure you read a similar story contributed by a reader in the Comments section below this post!
I think that the girl was the one who entered the time shift. I always wondered how you would be viewed by people around you in the current time while attending a time slip. You would probably disappear all together like this girl has.
ReplyDeleteThat's a a very valid point of view, Dennis. I often think about that myself.
ReplyDeleteI remember a story - I don't know if it was true or not, which is why I haven't written about it (yet) - where a librarian suddenly saw a couple, a man and a woman, dressed in clothes of a different era.
The funny thing is... they looked every bit as surprised as she was, and kept peeping to see if "it" (= she) was still there... :)
Who was the "ghost"? ;-)
This reminds me of something I experienced when i was in High School. It was during class time and my friend and I were on Bin duty and we walked into the corridor and saw a boy whom i had a crush on at the time. Because of my crush i was looking at him the whole time and both my friend and I saw him turn right and dissapear. I remember thinking to myself that's strange as I knew there were no rooms on that side of the corridor but then just assumed there must of been some door there that he walked through....so my friend and i reached the end of the corridor and looked to the right for the door that he must of walked through....yep you guessed it...there was no door there, nothing! And definitely this guy was not a Ghost, had not died, was definitely still among the living. I was never able to explain it.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing this story, Mardi!
ReplyDeleteIt's precisely this sort of "everyyday" time slips - or whatever they are - that fascinates me the most.
And I think scientists should be looking into such incidents much more intently than they seem to be. Just because certain phenomena do not fit in with one's concept of the universe, it doesn't mean they are non-existent ot the product od a delusional mind...
